Yeah, the database acquisition bot hasn't been getting full downloads of the regions... LL just stops sending data way too soon.
This is likely related to recent asset system failures.

It seems there are several sims affected by this; either Subnova Hax isn't doing a full download (unlikely) or Second Life isn't providing Hax with a full database, so it assumes it's getting the full download.

Need to know the names of the affected regions to check Subnova's Grid Region Database.
It's possible that the region somehow "fell off" the database listings.
Linden Lab has been having some problems with the map (among other things)... and our indexing system has been having a hard time keeping the database accurate.

We had all the Pegasus gates on our Sims belonging to my Partner (Zinbaco) and decided to replace them with gates I own [easier for me to upgrade as she is out shopping so much :) ].. So deleted one of the existing gates, the DHD and the controller, Dropped out a super shiney brand new RC4 rev 2 new gate from my inventory and get the following error

"Pegasus Alteran Stargate RC4 Rev 2: Subnova addressing error; Subnova servers may be down. Trying again in 5 minutes."

It does keep retrying and failing - deleted the gate and got Zinbaco to res a replacement gate and she gets the same error. Deleted that gate as we dont want to just keep hammering servers every 5 mins if there is a simpler solution :)

pinged the group asking and Eru Mantis offered help (thanks to Eru)

[0:45] Eru Mantis: Hey, ehm you cannot rezz a gate or use it?
[0:46] Bitova Loon: Eru - cant register it
[0:46] Eru Mantis: okay
[0:46] Eru Mantis: okay I just rezzed an pegasus
[0:47] Eru Mantis: and it registered with the server

Bounced the Sim and tried again.. still no luck ...

So puzzled

* Is it because we are replacing a gate at the same location but registering by a different owner (I can see how that might hic cup the database)

* Is it SL dorked :) as we know its been a bit sulky this weekend

* Is it a Server issue ?

or all or none of the above :)

This is a dumb little bug.
The url for the website button in the gate menu is

http://www.alpha-fox.com/asn/

This sends you to what I think is the 404 error page.

I don't remember if it at one time took you to the clicked gates page or just the asn page.

Yeah, I thought it might be SL and not the Stargate.

I spent a couple of hours this morning trying to duplicate it by dialing in from a few gates, but all I got was near perfect teleport landings or llMapDestination failing to get called when I click the event horizon.

This happens from time to time. Normaly the new destination is the correct sim but your currant coordinates. If this happens you will land in that incorrect parcels forced landing point if set, and your last pos if not set.

There is a Sl issue with llMapDestination which is why the 3rd party auto map script in the script Library does it twice to get the correct info. The same can be done with out it by clicking the evern horizon twice.

This may be all it is.

When I dial into my Stargate, I seem to occasionally get sent to a different location to where I expect.

The location I land at is Jsindo 131, 103, 22. The location I expect to land at is Jsindo 119, 99, 67. This is because the plot the stargate is on is set to force landing to this location. It isn't consistent that I always get sent to the odd landing point, but it is consistent that it will always be that location.

The result of this is that poor travelers end up on the porch of my neighbours house (they are friendly so it's not too much of a problem).

Has anyone else seen this sort of thing?

Lex is going to try to fix this, but I'm going to mark it as closed in RC4. If Lex does not manage to fix it, we have created a new solution that uses llSensor()

Yeah.... the API listener is in a seperate script, then it passes it via link message to another script. Since that close wormhole API command is the same as the link message the gate gets, it thinks its getting the link message.

The address displays are showing a 7 symbol native address, for Milkyway and tollan setups. it should be only 6. The pegasus and forerunner displays are working just fine, as they show a 6 symbol address.

I think this issue is caused by the Outgoing api seems to be switching the native and cross positions in the responce.
It should be:
"stargate address|(6 Symbols)<native>|(7 symbols)<cross>"
in the milkyway and tollan gate it is sending out
"stargate address|(7 symbols)<cross>|(6 symbols)<native>"
