Alteran Stargate Network 1.0 Release Party

The Alteran Stargate Network will officially launch version 1.0 with a release party at the Subnova Citadel on August 31, 2008. After an extensive beta phase, this milestone will be celebrated on the West Flight Deck, where a dedicated Stargate will allow attendees to arrive in style. Event details, including music and possible contests, are still being finalized. Stay tuned for updates!

llTeleportAgent: What happened?

The promised llTeleportAgent function for Second Life, originally expected in version 1.8 back in 2006, is still missing. This feature would be highly beneficial to the Alteran Network, as current workarounds like automap.lsl and AFTP have proven insufficient. Linden Lab is urged to prioritize this function, and users are encouraged to vote on the related PJIRA request to push for its implementation.

Zachary Carter will have limited availability for Alpha-Fox-related releases until after June 12, 2008, due to upcoming examinations. Development, including the RC1 release, will resume once those commitments are completed.

The ASN team has responded to past criticisms from the Prometheus Stargate Network, addressing concerns about internal conflicts, website design, gate scaling, server resources, hosting, and project stability. The team acknowledges past disagreements but remains open to collaboration. The network's design has evolved to be independent, and while the gates are canon-sized, adjustments are being made for compatibility. Server efficiency has been improved by reducing check-in frequency, and the project has since moved to a static IP for better reliability. While there have been name changes and account issues, the team is committed to maintaining stability moving forward, aiming to provide Second Life with a strong and sustainable Stargate network.
