January has been a quieter month on the surface, but not because nothing is happening. Behind the iris, we've been putting in the kind of work that doesn't look exciting until it suddenly is.

TL;DR

• No shiny new toys to show yet.
• We're quietly building something with other parties involved; details are classified for now.
• Backend API work is mid-refactor, and it has been... character-building.

Nothing user-facing

This month doesn't come with new features or tweaks. A lot of our effort has been focused on groundwork and problem-solving rather than visible releases.

Secret project

We've been collaborating on a project that involves other entities, which means we can't share details publicly just yet.

What we can say:

• It's active work (not vapour).
• It's been moving forward steadily.
• And we're aiming to share a fun update in the near future once everyone's ready.

Still in progress backend API enhancements

We've also been wrestling with backend API enhancements that turned out to require bigger changes than expected. Some parts needed significant refactoring, and as refactors love to do, it occasionally broke things in creative ways, and we've had to revert a lot of work and start again.

Looking ahead

The focus remains on stabilising and strengthening the backend for some API changes coming in without breaking the existing system.

Thanks for your patience. The quiet months are often the ones where the biggest foundations get laid.
